I have been busy painting the birds for you to copy and learn to paint for yourselves this does not give me much time to write about teaching methods,i am constantly trying to find ways to help you but this computer method is new to me also,so far i have painted watercolours and gauche and sometimes a mixture the paintings so far may not be easy for you to do but i aim to cater for all abilities and am working on much simpler ones which i will publish in due course back soon 23 july ................

perhaps in the future we may look at co loured pencils,and watercolour pencils,the next work i will produce for you will be a guide to painting you own little sketchbook,i will show you how to paint ,draw,small objects a bird,a,flower,leaf or tree using the minimum of paint,co lour and brush strokes,so you can produce an image in a little time from just one glance,but is not your painting ability so much as you need to improve your observation and your memory,coffee helps that,of course you can use a camara ,i use a cheap digital camera,the remarkable images i can achieve are obtained by blue tack,plywood and glue hair bobbles and financial need ,and a will not to be beat by those who money is no object,if you would like to know how to achieve these results with parts easily obtained a boot fairs and would like me to do a section on it then please let me know,but that will take time,happy painting see you soon mike 24th July

The kingfisher first copy and print,first draw or trace the bird to a piece of watercolour paper,paint in the eye with black,when dry add tiny speck of Chinese white,to give the drawing a little life,use blue no9 from box run a wash of colour round the drawing just before it is dry run in some Chinese white to form some clouds then a little green 11 with a little yellow added paint in the trees run a wash of the same blue as the sky to look like water just before it it dry add a wash of green to for a reflection illusion,with a thin brush add the tree trunks with brown no6,proceed through the picture using the same blue ,ocher and a little red under wings and body,5 and 1 Chinese white and a little black 12 to make the Grey feathers,add a little black to the blue to give darker blue for the head and neck,let dry completely with fine brush add some flecks of Chinese white with same blue 8 please enjoy mike.
MOUSE AND TOADSTOOL.
Copy trace or draw the picture paint in the sky with blue no 9 run a wash of green around the mouse ,PS all the greens use in these works are made from viridian no 11 with various added yellows including ocher,toadstool is red 1 when dry the markings are Chinese white,so are the veins on the ivy leaf ,mouse is brown 6 and 7 eye is black with Chinese highlight,12,please try enjoy the nature thats around you mike.

In the first column this is red no 1,with various amounts of water,the second column is the colours that proceed through the box.2 to 12,third column is the result mixed, with a little added black ,the 4th column is the result with a little black added,and so it proceeds .

 WAYSIDE GOUACHE,
Paint with the oil painting effect,but not the mess,you will need the following to procede with this method,one tin of acrylic white undercoat,one tin of clear acrylic varnish,these come in large tins and are not expensive and will last ages,your brushes,but remember not to let these obove dry on your brushes as it can ruin them,keep washing them as you work,a limited pallete OF GOUACHE COLOURS, WHITE, BLACK and your choice for the rest,......for those of you who may not be able to build a pallete here is a a few coloures,but before you go to buy,these colours they are  not cheap,you can use poster paints but these will not be permanent,...YELLOW OCHRE, NAPLESYELLOW CADMIUM RED EMERALD GREEN, CADMIUM YELLOW, 
BURNT SIENNA, RAW UMBER AND COBALT BLUE, THE COLOURS ARE BEAUTIFUL,SO PLEASE ENJOY,i will keep you busy mike 26 aug 2009.
